I’ve had a lot of comments about MP3s and CDs.

I’m working on putting up some more recent live MP3s on myspace.com and jonathanramsey.com.

There are MP3s and CDs available online:

Watch here for more free MP3s from my live shows, as well as new live CDs.

I drove out to Ballwin, MO (Saint Louis County), last night, music kit all in the back. Driving down Manchester, I didn’t recognize my surroundings. I couldn’t figure out where this long stretch of nothing was, until I realized that it wasn’t nothing. It was a couple miles of Manchester Road with no power.

So, I drove back home, marveling at the power of a little rain and temperatures hovering around freezing to take out a few square miles of the power grid. When I arrived home, Krysta had already looked at the Ameren website to see that 130,000 were already without power.

I suppose after they hike our electric rates, they’ll use some of it to drag our little piece of the grid kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

Cheers! And, once again, stock up on water and duct tape.

I was perusing some Fretboard Journal Blog entries from 2006, and ran across this article about some gorgeous instruments. Many of my friends and fans are big fans of pretty and portable wooden instruments.

Beautiful Rigel mandolin photos

Perhaps this could go along with my ukulele idea –that I stole from Dan Zanes, of course. These are very punk rock!

I love doing house concerts, so, in 2007, watch for more of them in various cities. We’re working on some keen house concerts in the U.S. Midwest, East Coast, and Canada. I may even have some interesting guests appear with me.

If you wish to host, or know of someone who might, please email me at “info at jonathanramsey.com”. We may be able to create a great gathering in your city. I’d love to have a nice series of house concerts along with my pub and school shows.

Tell your friends and watch for more info on a new House Concerts page, right here at jonathanramsey.com.

Cheers!

Mania that Pervades Jonathan's Soul08 Jan 2007 09:39 am

According to a CBC Story, “An Iraqi court on Monday dropped all charges against former dictator Saddam Hussein”.

His lawyers should be proud. He’ll be delighted to hear this.

Yes, that’s right. After a couple too many months, I’ll be at O’Malley’s Irish Pub in Weston, MO, this weekend. Weston is the fabled home of the… uh, people of Weston! The food, the drink, and, most importantly, the staff are wonderful at O’Malley’s. It’s a fabulous place for a night out with your family and friends.

So, if you’re anywhere in western Missouri, or eastern Kansas, come join the fun, January 5th and 6th at 8:00 PM.

I’ll be there and so will you, Honey! Well, actually, she won’t, so I’ll just kiss the banjo at midnight. No, wait, that was last weekend. Excellent! No banjo kissing! I’ll just kiss her Sunday night. Okay. I’ll go check my blood sugar now.

I have to say how much I like the look and sound of the Magic Fluke brand ukuleles. Both the Fluke and the Flea are wonderful.

I’m thinking of packaging these babies up with a little Jonathan Ramsey Irish Songs for the Ukulele songbook. My wife showed me that Dan Zanes is already doing just that, only with a Dan Zanes songbook, but I’m not sure I can let that stop me. Dan is sold out, anyway.

So, don’t be surprised if you don’t see a Jonathan Ramsey Hibiscus Concert Fluke Kit for sale in the near future.

I love the Hibiscus (Red) and the Uke-Calyptus (Green)!

If you’ve fallen in love with these, check out Flea Market Music.
