Castletown Geoghegan 26 October 2007 - Recap
Thanks to everyone who came out, Friday evening, and thanks to the fine people at Castletown Geoghegan. I had a great time in Belleville. Next time, we’ll get things rolling earlier, and I’ll be ready for any electronic mayhem that may ensue. Thanks too, everyone, for being so kind after. I was a bit wary of going, while still coming off a sinus infection, but I was able to give all I have. Everyone was very responsive, though I had to forgo a handful of favorites in favor of my voice.
I’ve yet to listen to the recording. Given the state of my voice, though everyone told me otherwise, I haven’t had the guts to listen yet. I will, however, give it a shot in the next day.
So, cheers and best wishes to all my new friends in lovely Belleville, Illinois. I’ll see you all soon.
Moby Quotient: How Badly Do Sellout Songs Tarnish an Artist’s Reputation?
The Washington Post has an interesting piece on what they call “The Moby Quotient”, or, alternatively, “The Moby Equation”. It attempts, albeit subjectively, to quantify, using a farcical math function, how much impact allowing a song to be used to promote a product or company will reduce an artist’s apparent integrity.
