Believe it or not, I’m in the running to be on the main stage at Dfest. Currently, Stephen Speaks is kicking everyone’s ****, with over 6,000 requests, and I’ve only just begun. It’s probably a mistake, but let’s make it the biggest mistake they’ve ever made!

You can help me by clicking on the Demand It! button, and voting for me to be on the illustrious Dfest Main Stage.

Thanks so much! If you’ve already voted, because you’ve seen this on MySpace or on Facebook, thanks a million!

Irish Music at Castletown Geoghegan in lovely Belleville, IllinoisThat’s right! I can’t believe I hadn’t posted it here, yet. Tonight, I’ll be in Belleville, Illinois, at the lovely Castletown Geoghegan for an ALL AGES, NO COVER show. If you haven’t been to Castletown Geoghegan, you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s a nice place just to enjoy a pint, or a soda, and you can partake of some very nice Irish and American fair. [I'm quite a fan of the fish and chips!]

So, Metro East and Saint Louis Metro folk, call your friends, and head over to Castletown Geoghegan for a night of fun, and help me rock Belleville.

It’s been a while since I’ve put a new free MP3 up. So, here’s a snarling tribute to Fiach MacHugh O’Byrne, Follow Me Up To Carlow. This is Podsafe, and released under a Creative Commons Non-Commercial, Attribution, Share-alike license. That means you can copy it, give it to your friends, make videos with it. If you do something fun with it, let me know. I’d like to see.

If you’ve been to one of my shows, and have photos of you and your friends, me, the weird knothole in the floorboard, or building photos, that you wouldn’t mind sharing with the world, email them to me, and I’ll put them in my galleries, here, and on MySpace. Send them to photos@jonathanramsey.com.

Thanks!

I was checking out my friend Eolai’s blog, earlier, when I realized how important it is that you all check it out. I especially enjoy his coverage of Irish film and video, in whatever denomination it occurs. This week, it’s Best Short Film at the Irish Film and Television Awards, Joyriders.

Eolai’s ironic wit just makes me yearn for my own family’s lost sarcastic patriarchs. The younger of us haven’t preserved that tradition as well as they did, and Eolai reminds me of its place in my mind. Of course, Eolai’s wit is less likely to warrant some good old American therapy, so serve it up.

Check out Eolai at Irish KC.

Childrens and Family Photographer Laura Siebert - Saint Louis, MOMy daughter had a photo session with Saint Louis photographer, Laura Siebert. She was incredibly nice, and did a great job with Cohen. Krysta and I watched as she led Cohen up and down the streets of the erstwhile garment-, now artist- district of downtown Saint Louis.

Notably, she has an extensive wardrobe for all ages in her loft studio. In fact, one of Cohen’s outfits was all but one piece from Laura’s wardrobe rack. It was so fun to watch Laura and Cohen work together.

If you seek a talented photographer with an incredible rapport with children and families, I highly recommend Laura. If you don’t live in, or near, Saint Louis, Missouri, it’s a quick flight from anywhere, Man!

Check her work out at, and contact Laura, via her websites:

CruisinTonight, I’ll be at the Cruisin’ Route 66, that swingin’ joint near Webster Groves, near Shrewsbury, and near Affton, Missouri. It’s about two miles east of the Crestwood Center, and a couple miles west of Ted Drewes. They have a great, and very affordable menu, and great bartenders. Of course, tonight, they’ll have me, and a few hours of rowdy Irish music.

So, call your friends, and have them meet you at Cruisin’ Route 66. We’ll have a big blowout with music and kicks-getting.
